What is Scrybe?
Scrybe is a calligraphy writing machine which brings the complex beauty of hand-written calligraphy to every user. With the help of Scrybe, the user is able to recreate the personal touch of a handwritten note, but without all the effort.
Scrybe uses a felt tip calligraphy pen to recreate traditional Gothic calligraphy script. The pen is mounted in a specially designed holder capable of giving it rational and vertical motion. The pen holder is attached to a gantry frame which controls the pen's horizontal motion. The difficulty in the mechanical design comes in creating precise, smooth motion in all axes. We are using a combination of servo and stepper motors to achieve the best possible motion.
On the software side, Scrybe uses an image processing algorithm to decompose individual calligraphy letters into a collection of strokes. Scrybe is capable of processing and arranging the strokes in proper order in order to create letters.
